The P&G MLB Cincinnati Reds Youth Academy was established in 2009 and operated for five years at a temporary location in conjunction with Cincinnati Public Schools. Academy programs provide free, year-round baseball and softball training programs for kids ages 5 to 18.

On August 22, 2014, the Reds Community Fund celebrated the grand opening of the state-of-the-art, 33,000-square-foot Joey Votto Training Center. The indoor facility serves as the home to all Reds Community Fund outreach programs, including free fall and winter clinics and activities.

The complex also features four renovated ballfields, including two synthetic infields and one stadium field that serves as the home to Walnut Hills and Purcell Marian High Schools. Included is an official girls’ fast pitch championship diamond. Since its opening in 2014 the complex has hosted over 1,500 games.

About the Reds Community Fund:

The Reds Community Fund (RCF) is dedicated to improving the lives of youth by leveraging the tradition of the Cincinnati Reds and the game of baseball.

Since its inception in 2001, the Community Fund has been dedicated to improving the lives of youth through its baseball-themed outreach efforts. Programs include the Reds Rookie Success League, a free, coed, character-building program for 6–12 year olds in Greater Cincinnati, Butler County, Clermont County, Louisville and Dayton; Youth Baseball and Softball Funding, which underwrites expenses for over 400 inner-city teams throughout Reds Country; and Field Renovation, which has helped restore more than 325 baseball fields. Including the Reds Urban Youth Academy, the Youth Baseball “Match” program and Greater Cincinnati RBI programs, more than 45,000 kids and coaches will be connected to the baseball-themed outreach efforts of the Reds Community Fund annually.
